Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 6:5-9
Special Verse: 2 Timothy 1:5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.
As parents we owe our children to fight for our faith to become theirs. Although the Christian faith can’t be inherited, we should do our best to pass our faith to the next generation which will result in generational blessings. We can't afford to lose our children to the world. It’s the family that’s the building block of the Christian church. When our kids seek God, the church will further build on this by focusing on ensuring the youth become zealous for the kingdom of God.
The Muslims do it, why shouldn't Christians who have the truth. A crucial way to achieve this is to ensure your faith is real and genuine. Children see through hypocrisy and pretense. When they see how you trust God, in their time of need, they will most likely do the same. Many times we feel frustrated and think we aren't making a difference but that is a lie. Keep sowing the seeds and being a light, God is faithful in due season, you will reap a harvest if you don't give up. On another hand, remember that you can’t arm twist your kids into following Christ. No matter how well you have raised them, as they get older, they will have to choose which way to go. Don’t blame yourself if they stray of God because God has given them the freedom of choice. Be at peace that you did the best you can.
