The Spoken Word Releases Power

The Spoken Word Releases Power

Bible Reading: Nehemiah 2:17-20

Memory verse: Hebrews 1:14, “Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?”

Nehemiah 2:20 says, “I answered them by saying, ‘The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding, but as for you, you have no share in Jerusalem or any claim or historic right to it.” God put in Nehemiah a burden to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. This was an ominous task, yet he went ahead with it. In the same way, God has given you a burden to do an “impossible task”. Now is the time to follow Nehemiah’s example by stepping out in faith. In the process of obeying, Nehemiah encountered the mockers, Sanballat and Tobiah. They mocked and jeered at him. Instead of keeping quiet, he answered them with the above scripture. He clearly told them that he knew who he was - a servant of God. He also pointed out that God Himself was going to give him success. He was not afraid to speak what he believed. Speak boldly the word of God when the mockers come because they will. Declare who you are, Jesus did the same. When we speak the word of God, we release angels on assignment to go forward and execute the promises of God as needed. Without the proclamation of the Word, God has no legal right to fulfill His Word. Remember it’s going to be by God’s grace and intervention that you will succeed.
