There are Two Sources of Prosperity

There are Two Sources of Prosperity

Bible Reading: Luke 4: 1-8

Special Verse: Proverbs 10:22

22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

Luke 4:5-8, we learn that there are two sources of wealth and power: God and Satan. During His time of temptation, Satan offered Jesus a shortcut to wealth and influence, but Jesus resisted. Satan clearly told Jesus that if he bowed down to worship him, he would give him the wealth and glory of the world. With this, we can conclude that there are many world leaders that have gotten their wealth by choosing to worship Satan. It’s clear that Satan’s route would have been easier on the flesh for Jesus than enduring the cross.

Each day, as we wake, we face a choice: to follow God’s leading or Satan’s for answers to our needs. Christians must always remember that God desires for them to live in abundant prosperity and wield meaningful influence. These blessings come through complete obedience to Him. There’s no need to envy wealthy unbelievers, as life in Christ offers far more than material riches. God’s blessings bring true wealth and add no sorrow to it unlike what Satan offers.
