This Is How You Are Saved

This Is How You Are Saved

Bible Reading: Romans 10:1–17
Special Verse: Romans 10:9
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Every religion known to man puts the weight of salvation on the shoulders of its followers. Some demand endless rituals. Others offer no clear path to salvation at all—leaving people confused, fearful, and uncertain of their eternal destiny.

When I go out to evangelize, I often ask people:
“On a scale of 1–10, if you died today, how confident are you that you would be in heaven with God?”
Sadly, most people never say ten. And even when they do, their confidence usually comes from believing their good works will somehow earn them eternal life.

Let me be absolutely clear: No one can be made righteous by obeying rules.
The Bible makes this plain. We were all born with sin in our spiritual DNA. That is why we must be born again—born a second time without sin. Salvation comes only when we believe that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior.

John 1:12 tells us that by believing in Jesus and receiving Him, we become sons and daughters of God. It truly is that simple.

Think of it this way: a convicted criminal cannot cancel their crime by pointing to the good things they did before. In the same way, your “good deeds” cannot outweigh your sins or serve as payment for them. Only Jesus—the One who knew no sin—could stand in your place. He became the righteous payment for our sins.

Through His death and resurrection, Jesus satisfied the full penalty for sin. Because of His sacrifice:

  • Sickness has been defeated.

  • Poverty has been broken.

  • Spiritual death has been conquered.

  • Rejection has been overcome.

  • Bondage has been destroyed.

The work is finished.
The price is paid.
The door is open.

Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ—and be free.
