Bible Reading: Romans 3
Special Verse: Deuteronomy 6:25
This verse is fascinating because it reflects the mindset of the Israelites, who relied on observing the law to be counted righteous before God. However, thank God that there is now another way to righteousness, as revealed in Romans 3:21-23:
“But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
This incredible righteousness is not based on our ability to perfectly follow the law. It is an eternal redemption, freely given to us through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not lost when we stumble but remains secure because of His finished work on the cross. When we put our trust fully in the redemptive work of Jesus on the cross, we obtain forgiveness of sin - past, present and future.
I am so grateful for the cross, and this is why I love Jesus deeply.
