Truth is Bitter

Truth is Bitter

BIBLE READING: GALATIANS 4:15-21

Special Verse:

 Proverbs 27:6

Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

Today's word is for those who are like me. Those who choose not to be politically correct while advising or speaking the word. I believe it's a great privilege and honor for someone to come to you for advice or be given an opportunity to share the word with people. We owe them the right to speak the truth in love. Speaking the truth many times is like a nurse giving someone a painful shot. The truth can really be a bitter pill to swallow. However, if the recipient doesn't spit it out, it will help heal and bring wholeness.

Jesus was killed because he always spoke the truth. He never minced words. Many times what he said didn't sound like love. Today I want to challenge everyone to love people enough to be truthful. It may cost you a friendship but it will be the right thing to do. I am not talking about meddling in people's lives, however, once someone brings a problem to you, they are giving you permission to speak into their lives.

In the same way, if someone chooses to seat under your message, you can't afford to be diplomatic in your teaching. Let us remember we are God's mouth piece and must glorify him in all we do. Don't be afraid of making enemies, God is your friend.
