Bible Reading: Genesis 39
Special Verse: Genesis 50:20
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
I’ve been reflecting on the life of Joseph, and it amazes me how God orchestrated His divine plan in Joseph's life despite circumstances beyond his control. Joseph couldn’t prevent his brothers from selling him into slavery, Potiphar’s wife from falsely accusing him, or the butler from forgetting him. Neither could he make the butler remember him, cause Pharaoh to dream, or arrange for his brothers to bow before him in Egypt.
What does this teach us? Our role in fulfilling God’s destiny for our lives lies in our daily faithfulness and obedience to His Word. While we can’t control other people’s choices or actions, our consistent faithfulness enables God to work out His purpose in us.
Joseph’s journey required trials—being sold into slavery and imprisoned—before he could reach the palace. Yet, through it all, his faithfulness to God never wavered. Let this be an encouragement: remain steadfast, trust God’s timing, and watch as He brings His promises to pass.
