Bible Reading: HEBREWS 11:29-35
Special Verse: 1 John 5:4
“For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.”
Growing up as a Christian, one of my struggles was not realizing that every promise in the Bible must be claimed through faith. I didn’t understand that I had an active role in receiving what God has already made available. Because of this mindset, many believers are still waiting on God to act, rather than stepping forward to possess what He’s already provided. This leads many in the church to feel like victims under governments or institutions, rather than victors. But now that I understand obtaining God’s precious promises requires intentionally applying my faith, I refuse to join in the complaints about leadership or governments.
Like the heroes of faith, I believe I can influence kingdoms, overcome obstacles, and see breakthroughs where needed. Daniel understood this truth—his excellent spirit enabled him to hold leadership positions in a foreign land, serving three different kingdoms faithfully.
The church isn’t a retreat but a training ground, preparing an army to go out and exercise the authority given through Jesus Christ. Whatever opposition you may face, remember that you have within you the power to overcome. It’s the faith of the Son of God, alive and active in you.
