Bible Reading: Numbers 33: 50-54

Just as God promised the land of Canaan to Israel, we too have been given great and precious promises. In Numbers 33:50-54, God instructed the Israelites to drive out all the inhabitants of the land. He warned them that if they failed to do so, these inhabitants would become thorns in their sides. Unfortunately, when Israel disobeyed, the Canaanites indeed became sources of trouble and sorrow.
This teaches us an important lesson: while God gives us His promises, we have a role to play in taking possession of them. Israel had to actively enforce God’s command to claim the land He gave them, and so must we enforce the victory Jesus won for us on the cross.
In our lives, this means driving out every demonic influence or stronghold in areas such as our health, finances, family, and more. If we don’t, these "inhabitants" will remain thorns, causing ongoing sorrow and struggles.
God doesn’t do the driving out for us. Instead, He gives us His help, authority, and power to do it ourselves. Stand firm in the authority of Christ and take possession of the promises God has given you!
