When the Dust Settles Be the One Standing

When the Dust Settles Be the One Standing

Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 10: 1-13

Memory verse: Job 27:6, “My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go; My heart shall not reproach me as long as I live.”

When Satan attacked Job’s family and health, his friends came to him but misunderstood Job’s circumstances. As a result of the magnitude of his tragedy, they were convinced God was punishing him for his secret sins. Many of us have a similar mentality when we see great evil come on people. The truth was that his ordeal was a test of his integrity and commitment to God. It is possible that the terrible challenges you are having is because the enemy wants to get you to deny God and give up your faith. Even Job himself didn’t understand why he was going through hell. Job searched his heart and knowing fully well he had not sinned stood his ground, regardless of his friends’ accusation of wrong doing. It is important that we learn to be like Job and not take upon ourselves a guilty conscience especially when we can’t place our hand on a particular sin. Do not let people be your accusers. The Holy Spirit uses the word to point out to us things we do wrong. Regardless of what you are going through, stand firm on the righteousness of God and the devil has no right to harass you. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Do not give up because when the dust settles you should be the one standing.
