Sometimes we think prayer is mainly for getting answers. But God wants it to be a place of intimacy—and out of that intimacy comes direction that protects you.
When you truly commune with God—talking with Him, praying in the Spirit, giving thanks—your spirit becomes sensitive. That’s when God can gently redirect you before you make costly mistakes. You may not even be “praying about the problem,” but in fellowship, God can whisper, “Don’t do that,” or “Go this way.”
That’s the beauty of seeking the Kingdom first: you’re not chasing things; you’re chasing the King. And when you seek Him, He adds what you need, and He also gives wisdom you didn’t know you needed.
Prayer isn’t meant to be a performance. It’s a desire—like the deer that longs for water. It’s your heart leaning into God saying, “Reveal Yourself to me.” And as you walk with Him, your service becomes powerful—not forced. You don’t serve to earn closeness; you serve from closeness.
Prayer:
Lord, make prayer my delight, not my pressure. Train my heart to crave Your presence. As I commune with You, guide my steps and protect my decisions. In Jesus’ name, amen.
