Why Jesus Had to Come
52. Bible Reading: John 1:1-14
Special Verse: John 1:14 — “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”
Many people struggle to understand why Christians say that Jesus is the Son of God. Some even ask, “Does that mean God had a wife?” But this question comes from trying to understand God through human limitations.
From the beginning, God created humanity to share His life. The Bible tells us that God formed Adam and breathed into him the breath of life. Until that moment, Adam was just a body. When God breathed into him, he became a living being. This shows us something important: our bodies are only houses. The real person is the spirit within.
Adam was called the son of God because God placed His life within him. Humanity was created in the image and likeness of God, designed to walk in fellowship with Him. But when Adam sinned, that spiritual life was lost. Although Adam continued living physically, he died spiritually. The spiritual life connection between God and humanity was broken.
Because of this, God Himself had to come to restore what was lost. Salvation could not come through another ordinary human being, because every person born through the natural process inherits the fallen nature of sin. Only God could step into humanity to rescue us. That is why Jesus came. God took on human flesh so that He could restore the relationship between God and mankind.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for sending Jesus to restore what was lost. Open my heart to understand the depth of Your love and the gift of salvation You provided through Christ. Amen.
