Bible Reading : Jeremiah 1:1-11
Memory Verse: Jeremiah 1:7 (NIV)
“But the Lord said to me, ‘Do not say, I am too young. You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you.’”
Age is often something we consider when we feel God calling us. We may think we are too young or too old to follow His voice. But this shouldn’t be our focus. God's call is based on what He has spoken over our lives, not on our age. One key to success in life is the power of the words we speak.
When God called the young Jeremiah, likely under 20 years old, He instructed him to speak only the words He placed in his mouth. In Jeremiah 1:10, God laid out Jeremiah’s mission:
“See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”
Jeremiah’s task was to be accomplished through one powerful tool—his words.
Our words hold the power to tear down evil and build up greatness. When we speak our own words, we limit ourselves. But when we speak God’s words, all of heaven moves on our behalf. Starting today, choose to speak God's words in every area of your life, and watch as you step into your God-given destiny.
