Bible Reading: Genesis 30:31-42
Memory verse: Genesis 30:41, “And it came to pass, whenever the stronger livestock conceived, that Jacob placed the rods before the eyes of the livestock in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods.”
You become what you behold, so get a clear picture of what you expect in life and work towards it. All Jacob had for creating his destiny was a vision. He had a mental vision of speckled and spotted cattle. He caused the solid colored cattle to behold the same thing by placing the rods before their eyes at the place where they drink water. This resulted in them having spotted offspring. This looks to me like genetic engineering. What we can learn from this story is that if we can make a mental vision of the future God has for us and keep our eyes focused on it, it will come to pass. On the contrary, if you visualize failure, that will be your reality. You can come to the end of your life rejoicing and fulfilled because you chose to believe, speak, and work towards God’s purpose for you. Success never happens by accident. It comes by design. Start today, do not wait till tomorrow to write and pursue God’s vision for you with every step you take. Remember “All things are possible with him that believes”
