You Can Win Every Battle

You Can Win Every Battle

Bible Reading: Ephesians 6:10-18

Memory verses: Joshua 11:18-19, “Joshua made war a long time with all those kings. There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, except the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon. All the others they took in battle.”

I have often wondered why Satan doesn’t stop coming against Christ’s followers. You would think that after Jesus defeated him on Calvary’s tree, he would surrender, but that is not the case. The book of Joshua aptly describes our Christian life. Joshua had to continually take the children of Israel to battles. In the same way, the Bible says we are in a spiritual battle, not against flesh and blood, but against the lies/ schemes of the enemy. We are commanded to stand against them in faith using the word of God. It is amazing how, like the Canaanites, they will not give up until you destroy them with truth and faith.

You cannot afford to be battle weary because the fight of faith ends in the grave. However, it is called the good fight of faith which means you have the upper hand and have no business loosing. The promise land has already been given to us, but we must occupy it by faith. As you go into the day, make sure to put on the whole armor of God, and resist the enemy. Just like in Joshua’s case, victory is sure. Praise God!
