Your Comfort is Not as Important as Your Obedience

Your Comfort is Not as Important as Your Obedience

Bible Reading: 1 Kings 17:1-12

Memory verse: 1 King 17:9, “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you..”

God asked Elijah to go to Zarephath, to a widow who was about to starve to death. When God spoke to the widow to feed Elijah, she didn’t know that that was going to be her answer to starvation, indeed, it was a weird instruction considering she had very little. From this, we can learn a couple of things. One of them is that when in need, all we need to do is just listen and obey God’s instructions. Furthermore, where you are today may be uncomfortable but it can be of benefit to others. Elijah was asked to leave the brook and go to the widow woman. This must have been uncomfortable for him, but it ended up blessing the widow’s life. Finally, God will take you out of your comfort zone, like He did with Elijah, to meet your needs. The fact that you feel uncomfortable does not mean it is not an instruction from God.
