Scripture Reading: Luke 15:11-32
Special Verse: Psalm 91:2
I will say of the Lord, he is my refuge, my fortress, my God in him will I trust.
Psalm 91 doesn’t just tell us what God will do—it shows us what we must do. It says, “I will say of the Lord…” Your words matter. What you are saying is as critical as what you believe.
Some people may be “in the house” like the older brother in the story of the prodigal son—close to the Father, yet lacking a sonship mindset. Others may be far away like the prodigal—living outside covenant benefits because of wrong choices. But there is also another danger: being near, yet speaking unbelief.
You can be “dwelling” and still speaking the wrong thing.
That is why Psalm 91 connects protection to confession: “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” When fear rises, the question becomes: what are you trusting? Is your confidence in God, or in external measures alone when you deal with sicknesses? Psalm 103 says God “forgives all your iniquities and heals all your diseases.” That includes every named disease—no exceptions. The issue is often not God’s willingness, but our faith and confession. What are you saying when you face a storm?
God wants to be God in every “room” of your life—provider, healer, protector, deliverer. Don’t limit Him to one area while living in fear in another.
Prayer:
Father, train my mouth to agree with Your Word. Help me speak faith when fear tries to rise. Be Lord over every area of my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Declaration:
I will say of the Lord: You are my refuge. You are my fortress. You are my healer and my protector.
