Your Destiny is Your Choice

Your Destiny is Your Choice

Bible Reading: Exodus 19
Key Verse: Exodus 19:5-6 – "Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation."

Many people believe in the idea of predestination—that God has predetermined every detail of our lives, leaving no room for personal choice or change. However, this perspective doesn’t align with what we see in Scripture. God revealed Himself to the nation of Israel, performed mighty miracles to deliver them from Egyptian bondage, and had a plan to bring them into the Promised Land. Yet, despite His will, most of that generation died in the wilderness because of their disobedience and lack of faith. Only Joshua and Caleb remained faithful and entered the land God had promised.

Even Moses, whom God called His friend, faced consequences for his choices. His desire to know God intimately was evident, but his actions at times led to decisions that cost him the opportunity to enter the Promised Land. In contrast, the Israelites often sought only what God could do for them, rather than pursuing a deep relationship with Him. When God offered to speak to them directly, they refused and asked Moses to act as their intermediary instead.

This raises an important question for us today: What kind of relationship do you have with God? Are you relying on others to seek Him on your behalf, or are you stepping into the role of a priest, as God has called you to be? Are you approaching His throne boldly, communing with Him directly, and seeking His presence above all else?

Your destiny is not a fixed path imposed upon you; it is shaped by your choices and your relationship with God. If you tune out the distractions of life and earnestly seek Him, you will find Him. Your willingness to obey, trust, and draw near to Him will determine the course of your life.
